Nermin Kamal (Fərəcullayeva) is an independent writer, author and philosophy teacher from Baku, Azerbaijan.

She is the author of the three books published in Baku: On Umberto Eco and Postmodern Philosophy, the novel “Aç, mənəm” (Open, It’s Me) and the collection of essays “Küçədən Keçən Adam haqda yazılar” (A Passer-by), currently working on her next novel and short story collection.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, MA (Hons) in History of Philosophy, and has completed MPhil and PhD courses. Currently, she works as a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy (specializing in history of philosophy, philosophy of mind, and formal logic) at a private university in Baku. 

Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Qantara.de, The Calvert Journal, The Point, BBC World Service/Azerbaijani, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Azerbaijani Service, and mostly in Azerbaijani media.
